The Social Administration in Karlsborg is responsible for elderly care, care for people with disabilities, municipal health and medical care, as well as individual and family care.

The administration has about 250 employees.

Job Responsibilities

As a social worker in the Children and Youth Group, you will investigate children and young people according to the Social Services Act. If there is a need for interventions, you will initiate the intervention for the child/young person and their guardians. The interventions can include open care in the form of family treatment or contact families, placement in foster homes, supported housing, or HVB. You will work closely with the senior social worker and your colleagues. As a social worker, you will follow up on the approved intervention to ensure that it yields positive results for the child/young person. If necessary, other interventions may be added.

In the Children and Youth Group, there are many conversations with the child/young person, guardians, and other important people for the child. Collaboration with other actors such as open care, schools, the region, and BUP is often crucial. An important part of the work is documentation in the form of journals, investigations, follow-ups, etc.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker and wants to work with children and young people within public authority. It is an advantage if you have previous experience working with child welfare investigations and BBiC.

It is important that you see the family itself, the family's own network, and the other professional network as important resources in the family's change work.
